On June 19th, Dying with Dignity Victoria marked its 50th anniversary (formerly known as VESV). Ryan Batchelor MP courteously hosted our celebratory event at the Parliament of Victoria.
The evening was filled with warmth and gratitude as we celebrated with a fantastic group of people who have been with us every step of the way. We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and has supported us over the years.
Since Dying With Dignity Victoria was founded, we’ve achieved significant milestones, notably the implementation of the Victorian VAD Act five years ago. However, there is still much work ahead to expand access to end-of-life choices. We are using this opportunity to call for further reforms to modernise Victoria’s already-outdated VAD laws.
We hope to make VAD accessible to more individuals and will continue our advocacy efforts to drive these important changes forward.
