The DWDV Board is proud to announce that the recipient of ‘The Rodney Syme Medal 2021’ is Tasmanian MP Mike Gaffney.The award is given in recognition of a distinguished effort by an individual/s in pursuit of the Dying with Dignity cause. Mike, an Independent introduced the Tasmanian ‘End of Life Choice VAD Act into the Tasmanian Upper House. Against many odds he achieved unanimous support for his bill in the Upper House, before it was passed in the Lower House, in March this year. An extremely worthy recipient of this highly regarded award, named after the extraordinary and greatly missed Dr Rodney Syme.
